    The agent team

    Two scheduled AI agents run a content operation daily, with every approval human-only at the database and a receipt for every run. In production since January 2026.

    RedPencil.ai

    An AI developmental editor for novelists, designed and built solo: a whole-manuscript analysis pipeline, a Story Bible, a no-lookahead cold read, and a learnings library filled by local inference.

    Knowledge libraries and the team vault

    One ingestion engine, three libraries, citations, offline; and a git-enforced shared memory that lets a human and six agents across two machines hand work to each other.

    Generative media

    Images, video and music produced with generative models for project content, including every painting on this site: prompted, culled and sequenced by hand, and credited where it hangs.

    Director of DevelopmentWhite-label development and marketing agency; HubSpot Diamond partner.
    • Lead delivery of client web projects across HubSpot, Drupal, WordPress, Shopify and Adobe Experience Manager, owning timelines, budgets and client reporting.
    • Use AI daily inside the existing review path: browser agents to diagnose live-site issues, AI on QA, and models to draft and check project scopes and build plans. AI-assisted development is for the agency's in-house products; client projects are built by the developers who quoted them.
    • The person called in when the agency signs work on technology nobody there has used before: learn it, scope it, ship it. Calm in a technology emergency, and the one people bring theirs to.
    • Manage and mentor developers; step into hands-on development at crisis points; own client relationships from onboarding to weekly stakeholder meetings.

    • Grew the web presence from two to thirteen Drupal sites as lead developer, then defined an in-house build model using contractors I guided and mentored; delivered the 2018 rebuild of the most-visited site under that model.
    • Co-managed the cross-departmental team that designed and built the employee intranet; Manager Recognition award, 2017.
    • Custom Drupal modules, e-commerce applications, and the technical contact for several affiliated organisations.
  4. Earlier rolesVancouver and Edmonton2003 — 2007
    IT Manager, UHL; Developer and junior project manager, Enrolnet
    • Maintained Linux, Apache and Tomcat servers and a Java corporate site; built and ran the Java registration system for the World Masters Games, twenty thousand athletes, and trained its staff.
